Studio Polat created the visual imagery for Tafel van 5 latest show, ‘Perry,’ capturing dancer Perry Gits’ personal journey and quest for ultimate freedom and expression.

Self-expression is the leitmotiv, and Gits dances through time, dimensions, rituals, and traditions to achieve a new identity. An identity that is self-chosen and without the rules, norms, expectations, or prejudices of others. In doing so, he holds up a mirror to his audience. What do you see when you look at this black and gay man? Do you recognize yourself? And what would it be like if you recognize differences between people – gender, race, ethnicity, or education, without judgment, so that there is the freedom to be yourself?
